From crosswalks to tree planting, a number of conditions are included in an application to subdivide the parcel of land where Brandon’s new school is set to be located.

Council will consider the application during their meeting on Monday, which asks for the creation of one lot and a public road, along with several conditions for the developer, including payment for 20 boulevard trees, the costs of which will be calculated once the development agreement has been executed.

Other conditions include $13,000 to upgrade the southbound First Street right-turn auxiliary lane at Maryland Avenue and First Street, $83,259.65 for land drainage sewer upgrades from MacLeod Drive to Cornwallis Crescent and $19,200 for a southeast lift station.

The developer will also be asked to work with the city’s operations division on a crosswalk installation at Maryland Avenue and MacLeod Drive, as well as “No Parking” signs on both sides of Maryland Avenue.

Council will also be asked to accept a bid from Graham Construction and Engineering LP for the construction of the Kirkcaldy Lift Station.

The construction of a new lift station is part of a series of dike improvements following the floods of 2011.

Graham came in with the lowest of four tenders, at a cost of $5,907,850 (net of GST).

The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. in the council chambers.
