Mind the gap: The Briefing for 2 April 2025
Japan’s Fair Trade Commission believes antitrust rules can be used to narrow the gender pay gap. Speaking at the American Bar Association’s Antitrust Spring Meeting today, JFTC commissioner Reiko Aoki said inefficient labour markets are to blame for pay inequality and warned that product innovation is biased against women. Also in The Briefing, Spain’s competition watchdog raids civil engineering companies and Google slams South African proposals to impose remedies on major tech companies.
