Following the visit, Ms Sullivan said: “I was impressed by the scale and quality of training provided at Sibbald Training.

“However, businesses are deeply worried about the impact of skills shortages. Without action, contracts will be lost, jobs will disappear, and young people will be left without opportunities. We need urgent investment in skills development to ensure we have a workforce ready to meet industry demands.”

John Sibbald, Director of Sibbald Training, welcomed the visit.

He added: “We were delighted to welcome Kirsteen Sullivan to Sibbald Park and have the opportunity to raise not only the business challenges we face, but also broader industry concerns such as funding and skills shortages—issues that impact our customers every single day.”

Ms Sullivan reaffirmed her commitment to supporting investment in skills and training, recognising its critical role in strengthening the workforce, boosting employment opportunities, and ensuring long-term economic prosperity.
