"What? This is not a Rocket Science, I can do it easily." You must have heard this several times. So, if you do engineering in Aeronautics you can proudly say "I know Rocket Science". Or if you were facinated with aircraft, planes, spaceships as a child the also you can do B.Tech. in Aeronautical Engineering. It has become a popular choice among students these days.
So, are you ready to solve this puzzle of 'rocket science'? Let's now discuss how you can pursue aeronautical engineering.
In this article we will discuss what career options you can explore as an aeronautical engineer.
What is Aeronautical Engineering
Let's first understand what is aeronautical engineering aeronautical engineering is the branch of engineering in which we study the techniques of operating aircrafts, it's manufacturing, design etc. As an aeronautical engineer you would primarily be responsible for designing, construction, testing, analysing aircrfts, spaceships for their optimum performance.
At the time of cutting edge technology when every country is fighting to register their supremacy in space, therefore, all companies involved in manufacturing designing and developing aircrafts satellites missiles or other types of spacecraft equipments are definitely want to hire a person who can give the company and the country an edge over others and side by side can save its expenses on developing these flying machines.

While studying aeronautical engineering you will acquire technical knowledge involved in developing spacecraft like - aerodynamics, basic structure, material used in developing aerospace or flying machines, propulsion, flight machines and stability and control.
Why should you do aeronautical engineering?
As we can see in the past few years to the quest for exploring Mars and other planetary bodies has increased manifold. Not only India, America, China and Russia and other countries are sending their rovers to planet Mars. Some countries really want to explore for scientific knowledge, life there at Mars while some simply want to prove the world that they have better technology by successfully exploring planetary bodies including Mars. Therefore, aeronautical engineers are in high demand. Also this is the field where we have never seen any economic slowdown.
Aeronautical engineering courses
As other branchs of engineering, for pursuing aeronautical engineering there are also four main ways - diploma, degree, masters and PhD. The diploma course in aeronautical engineering can be done after class 10th or 12th while degree course i.e., B.Tech can be pursued after doing twelfth with science. For getting admissions into B.Tech, candidates are required to clear JEE Main exam while for admission into to IITs, NIITs, IIITs and other prestigious institutions candidates are required to clear JEE advanced. Candidates who wish to pursue masters in aeronautical engineering will have to appear for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) while for PhD they have to clear UGC-NET examination.
