2.45pm: Manchester United are surprise favourites to sign Real Madrid star James Rodriguez.

Rodriguez is currently on a two-year loan at Bayern Munich.

But that’s not stopped bookies Ladbrokes tipping him for a summer switch to Old Trafford.

Jose Mourinho’s side are 6/4 favourites to get the Colombian superstar, who could put himself in the shop window at the World Cup in Russia.

2.15pm: Manchester United are ready to splash the cash in January.

Sccording to Yahoo Sport, United have given the green light for Mourinho to spend in January in hope of catching their arch-rivals Manchester City.

They claim the Special One wants a new left-back, a winger and a central midfielder.

United are expected to spend around £80m on their new signings next month.

1.30pm: Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is prepared to part with Juan Mata to land Joao Mario in January.

According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, Mourinho has set his sights on signing Portuguese countryman Mario.

And in order to land him, United would be willing to allow Mata to move the other way.

12.15pm: Alex Sandro could be off to Chelsea in January.

Juventus were demanding £80m for their prized left-back in the summer.

But The Telegraph say the Brazilian has now fallen out with key staff members at Juventus and there’s now an acceptance a move will be in the best interest of all parties involved.

With that in mind the Serie A giants’ asking price could drop to £50m - which may bring Chelsea to the negotiating table.

11.50am: Sol Campbell reckons Arsene Wenger needs to splash the cash if Arsenal are to become a title challenger again, with defenders at the top of his wish list.

"They've done pretty well overall,” Campbell said.

"But Arsenal are two defenders short of being a top team.

“They really need to push the boat out and buy a couple more players."

11.15am: Dele Alli has joined the same agency that represents Cristiano Ronaldo, Jose Mourinho and Harry Kane.

The Tottenham star has signed a deal with CAA Sports - who also represent Carlo Ancelotti, James Rodriguez and Nico Rosberg - to maximise his commercial value.

Speaking about his decision, Spurs star Alli said: “I'm delighted to join CAA at this important time in my career.

"I'm excited for the future working alongside them.

10.45am: Manchester United are set to move for Mesut Ozil as soon as next month.

Arsenal face losing their star playmaker in 2018 with his contract running down ahead of next summer.

According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, Mourinho is willing to offer up to £22m for Ozil.

10am: Raheem Sterling is one of the Premier League's most in-form players - but he won't be penning a new Manchester City contract any time soon.

City have shelved talks with the England winger until after the World Cup next summer.

9.30am: Manchester City are ready to spend big in January for Alexis Sanchez.

Pep Guardiola tried to get the Chilean in the summer but a deal couldn't be done.

And The Independent say he'll try again the New Year, although it may cost £50m for a sale to go through.

9am: Zinedine Zidane has called Chelsea star Eden Hazard.

Real boss Zidane and club president Florentino Perez are both big admirers of the attacker.

And according to Spanish news outlet Diario Gol, Zidane has already contracted Hazard over a move to the Bernabeu.

They claim the Frenchman spoke to the Blues star during the past week to discuss a possible transfer.

8.30am: Everton have sounded out Arsenal about a deal for Theo Walcott.

The Gunners man is well down the pecking order at the Emirates and could be up for a move to give himself a chance of earning a World Cup spot for England.

Sam Allardyce wants new men on board, and Walcott fills the bills, The Daily Mail report.

8am: Chelsea have sent scouts to run the role over Porto left-back Alex Telles.

The Blues are after competition for first-choice Marcos Alonso.

Juventus star Alex Sandro is a top target, but Telles is on their radar too, report The Telegraph.

7.30am: Jurgen Klopp admits Philippe Coutinho could leave Liverpool in the New Year.

“I have a team to prepare and no-one knows what will happen in the nice and calm January transfer window," he said.

“It’s nice from an outside view but I have absolutely nothing to say.”

Klopp has previously insisted Coutinho won't be sold.

5.30am: Manchester United's summer target Ivan Perisic has revealed why turned down the chance to join from Inter Milan.

The 28-year-old insists his manager Luciao Spalletti changed his mind.

"Spalletti told us that every player is important and we got proof of that in the win, as even those who haven’t had as much space made their mark," he told Mediaset Premium.

"Spalletti was extremely important in convincing me to stay."

4.30am: Chelsea have been boosted by the news that long-term target Alex Sandro wants to leave Juventus.

Antonio Conte tried to sign the left-back during the summer.

But the Telegraph report that the Italian giants will listen to offers of £50m in January.

1.45am: Manchester City will lodge a huge January bid for Arsenal contract rebel Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean forward is a free agent in June and a move to the Etihad fell through during the summer.

The Independent report that Pep Guardiola is keen to get the deal done next month to guarantee he gets his man.

But Arsene Wenger could play hardball as he would prefer Sanchez to stay until the end of the season to boost the Gunners' top four hopes.

0.00am: Barcelona legend Lionel Messi rejected a huge €100m (£88.1m) signing on bonus from Manchester City before penning a new deal at the Nou Camp.

The Argentine signed a mega new £500,000-a-week contract with the La Liga giants last week following months of negotiations.

According to Marca, City also tabled an offer of £850,000-a-week to reunited Messi with former boss Pep Guardiola.

The 30-year-old's previous deal was due to expire at the end of the season.

10.00pm: Man Utd manager Jose Mourinho has been keeping tabs on Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

According to the Italian media, the Red Devils boss sent scouts to witness the Serbian midfielder in action in Lazio’s dramatic 2-1 win over Sampdoria at the weekend.

Milinkovic-Savic was the architect of his side’s late comeback, netting the equaliser 11 minutes from time before engineering the move that saw Felipe Caicedo steer home the winner in injury time.

The 22-year-old has been linked with a big-money move over the last 12 months, with Lazio's sporting director Igli Tare claiming they turned down a £61.5m (€70m) offer during the summer, Calciomercato reports.

8.50pm: Cristiano Ronaldo is determined to land a new Real Madrid contract.

That’s according to Spanish news outlet Don Balon who claim the Portuguese superstar wants parity with Lionel Messi.

Messi penned a mammoth new deal with Barca last month and Ronaldo wants a similar deal to his rival.

8.10pm: Danny Rose moving to Manchester United would suit both player and club, according to Stewart Robson.

“It could be a good move for Manchester United,” Robson told ESPN FC.

“Most of their left-backs haven’t played particularly well, Ashley Young has done a good job but he’s not a left-back.

“Luke Shaw I don’t think is going to be given a look in. Darmian’s played out there, Daley Blind hasn’t done well enough defensively.

“I think it would be a good move, he’s obviously having a few problems at Tottenham at the moment.

“So a good move for Manchester United and Danny Rose.”

7.30pm: Zinedine Zidane says Real Madrid have ‘not decided’ if they’ll splash the cash in the January transfer window.

But the Real boss has admitted his side need more goals if they are to haul in Barcelona in the La Liga title race.

Los Blancos have endured a torrid time so far this season and are currently eight points behind arch-rivals and league leaders Barca.

Asked if Real will sign anyone this winter, Zidane replied: “We’ve not decided yet.”

6.45pm: Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata admits he is flattered that he is missed at Real Madrid.

Morata left Real Madrid for a second time in the summer to join Chelsea after helping his boyhood club to a Champions League and La Liga double with 20 goals last season.

Speaking to TVE, Morata said: “I don’t know if they (Madrid) miss me or not, and it’s a pleasure that they say it.

“I wish they didn’t have to say it because that would mean that things are going well [for Madrid].”

6pm: Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez is getting near to making a switch to Real Madrid, according to sensational reports in Spain.

The Gunners star is out of contract at the end of the season and is expected to leave the Emirates after refusing to sign a new deal.

And now Spanish outlet Don Balon claim Sanchez wants a move to Real over working with Pep Guardiola again at Manchester City.

Zinedine Zidane is said to be ready to offload Lucas Vazquez to make room for the Chile international.

Serie A side Roma are interested in signing the 26-year-old from Real.

5.20pm: Everton have enquired about the availability of Arsenal forward Theo Walcott in January as Sam Allardyce looks to bolster his attacking options.

Allardyce is keen to add players of Premier League quality to his squad to launch the Toffees’ climb up the table.

Walcott is yet to make a Premier League start this season and that has prompted Everton to enquire about his situation, according to the Daily Mail.

Allardyce selected Walcott in the only squad of his short-lived spell as England boss, coming off the bench in a 1-0 win over Slovakia.

And now, the new Everton manager believes the 28-year-old can inject some much needed pace into the side assembled by predecessor Ronald Koeman in the summer.

4.45pm: Tony Cascarino has praised several players for their performances this season despite wanting to leave their clubs in the summer.

He told The Times: “Van Dijk, Mahrez, Coutinho, Ozil and Sanchez had their heads turned in the summer.

“Everyone questioned their heart, but they have tried as hard as possible for their clubs recently.

“Mahrez was superb for Leicester, he was absolutely top dollar. Coutinho hasn't sulked at Liverpool.

“I applaud them for not downing tools. Özil and Sánchez have been great for Arsenal. All of them are playing well.

4.15pm: Sevilla ace Steven N’Zonzi has flown to England looking for a return to the Premier League as Arsenal and Everton are keeping tabs.

According to Marca, the Frenchman is trying to force a move away from Seville and has told his team-mates he wants a transfer after being denied a €30m (£26m) move to Juventus just over a year ago.

The Spanish outlet also claims the Gunners and the Toffees are at the front of the queue for the ex-Blackburn and Stoke midfielder.

Sevilla though are in no rush to sell the wantaway star who is tied down to Spain until 2020 and has a €40m (£35m) release clause.

3.30pm: Lionel Messi is trying to block Barcelona from signing Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho.

Spanish media outlet Diario Gol say the Argentine superstar is adamant that he isn’t worth the cash.

Barca made repeated bids to sign the midfield maestro in the summer.

But Liverpool held firm and refused to sign sell their prized asset.

Diario Gol say the Catalans are still in the hunt. But Messi has reportedly told club chiefs to invest elsewhere in the squad.

2:55pm: Eden Hazard has stalled on signing a new deal amid interest from Real Madrid.

The Belgium international has been on fire for the Blues this season, netting eight goals in all competitions.

Hazard has been offered £300,000-a-week to stay at Stamford Bridge.

However, The Times say the forward is stalling and will make his decision at the end of the season.

2:20pm: Frank Lampard says Tiemoue Bakayoko needs to up his game to succeed at Chelsea.

The France international has impressed in spells under Antonio Conte this season following his £40m move from Monaco in the summer.

And Lampard says Bakayoko could be axed if he doesn’t improve.

“Tiemoue Bakayoko will need to raise his game at Chelsea to keep Danny Drinkwater from taking his place on a more regular basis,” Lampard told the Evening Standard.

“Both players joined in the summer and as yet, Bakayoko has not made enough of an impact in games.

“When you sign for Chelsea, you have to understand that you’re never the only player for a position. There is always someone else knocking on the door.”

1:10pm: Manchester City want to sign Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen, according to former Blues ace Pat Nevin.

“I heard a wee whisper, and I don’t know if it’s true, but the player he would really like more than anyone else is Andreas Christensen from Chelsea,” Nevin told Irish radio station Newstalk.

“That’s the one he’d really like.

“He’s not going to get him but he’s at that sort of age he could to the same thing as [John] Stones.”

12pm: David De Gea wants a bumper pay-rise to join Real Madrid.

The Manchester United star is a long-term target for the Spanish giants.

However, according to Spanish news outlet Diario Gol, De Gea has his heart set on leaving United.

They claim the goalkeeper wants to join Real and link up with Zinedine Zidane at the Bernabeu.

Diario Gol add that De Gea has issued transfer demands to the Spanish champions.

The stopper wants a bumper pay rise, on par with Sergio Ramos and Gareth Bale, as well as Real to axe Keylor Navas.

11:15am: Alvaro Morata could be heading back to Real Madrid.

The Spain international has been in fine form since his summer move to Chelsea.

However, according to Spanish outlet Diario Gol, Real have a plan to lure the striker back to the Bernabeu.

They claim Morata always wanted to succeed in Madrid and he refuses to rule out a return.

Diario Gol add that Real’s cunning plan to re-sign Morata is to bring Conte to Real.

The Italian could replace the under fire Zinedine Zidane at the Bernabeu, and Real would make sure Conte brings Morata with him.

9:45am: Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil’s impressive form may suggest they could yet stay at Arsenal beyond this season, Emmanuel Petit claims.

“Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are coming back to the way they should be playing for Arsene Wenger,” Petit told Paddy Power.

“It’s great news for Arsenal that they’ve returned to form.

“But is that just because the transfer window is around the corner?

“Who knows if they still want to leave? I really hope they remain at the club.

“But, if they do, they need to show the same commitment to help Arsenal to a Champions League spot.”

8:50am: Manchester United are confident of landing Tottenham star Danny Rose.

Starsport exclusively revealed on Saturday that the England international will join the Red Devils if they pay £45m.

And the Daily Mail say Jose Mourinho is confident he’ll sign the defender, who will become his first-choice left-back.

8am: Real Madrid are desperate to sign Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez.

The Gunners talisman has been tipped to quit the Emirates at the end of the season.

Manchester City made a £60m bid for the Chile international in the summer but Arsenal couldn’t land a replacement in time and the deal fell through.

However, according to Spanish transfer outlet Don Balon, Sanchez could be heading to Real Madrid.

They claim the former Barcelona forward is closing in on a move to the Bernabeu.

Don Balon add that Zinedine Zidane wants to sell Real ace Lucas Vazquez to make room for Sanchez.

5:45am: Liverpool could offer Daniel Sturridge to Sevilla in an effort to tempt Steven N’Zonzi to Anfield.

The striker has been plagued by injuries for the past three seasons and has fallen out of favour at Anfield, with boss Jurgen Klopp preferring Roberto Firmino.

He could seek an exit as he bids to gatecrash Gareth Southgate’s World Cup plans.

And according to El Gol, the Reds are plotting to use the former Chelsea man as a makeweight to bring N’Zonzi back to the Premier League.

3:30am: Luis Suarez is adamant Neymar will not join Real Madrid.

The PSG star is reportedly unhappy in France and has been linked with a stunning move to Los Blancos.

But former team-mate Suarez told Marca: "Not at all. Honestly, I don't see it.

"I know what Neymar is like and the admiration he had for Barcelona and his teammates."

10:30pm: Ausburg right-back Daniel Opare could be making his way to the Premier League when he becomes available for transfer in January.

According to The Daily Mail, Everton, West Ham, Stoke and Swansea are all interested in the 27-year-old, who is likely to command a £3m price-tag.

10:00pm: Manchester United are confident of landing Danny Rose in a bargain deal.

Starsport exclusively revealed on Saturday that the Tottenham star will join the Red Devils if they pay £45m.

But The Independent now add that the United hierarchy feel that Rose’s lack of game-time recently will see that fee go down.

It is also said that Spurs are not interested in the possibility of a swap deal involving Luke Shaw, despite reports.

9:00pm: Tottenham are interested in signing France midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia in January.

Sky Sports claim Spurs are looking for a long-term replacement for Mousa Dembele and are keen on Kondogbia.

The 24-year-old has impressed whole on loan at Valencia from Inter Milan this season.

8:15pm: Olivier Giroud should consider a move away from Arsenal in January to keep his World Cup hopes on track.

France assistant coach Guy Stephan said: “[Boss Didier Deschamps] has had the opportunity to talk to him about it and now Olivier has to find a solution in the weeks to come.

"A loan deal in January? That's up to him. Olivier has been very good for us in the last few months and he has a very high ratio in terms of the amount of games played to goals but now he must play more."

7:30pm: Guillem Balague has ruled Liverpool out of the race to land Atletico Madrid superstar Antoine Griezmann.

Asked if an Anfield move could be on the cards, Balague told Sky Sports: “Griezmann is thinking of different things.

“Liverpool have to prove they are genuine title contenders again to be able to attract the likes of Griezmann.

“I don't think Liverpool are on Griezmann's radar at this moment in time.”

6:45pm: Manchester United will hand Jose Mourinho an £80m transfer war chest in January.

According to The Sun, United will let Mourinho spend big this winter to keep the pressure on Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

The Special One met with Old Trafford chiefs last week to discuss their transfer plans for next month and wants a new left-back, a right winger and a No.10.

United are also set to axe Luke Shaw and Matteo Darmian to make space for their new signings.

5:45pm: Arsenal could land Steven N’Zonzi in January, according to the bookies.

BetStars director Ian Marmion said: “Former Blackburn and Stoke midfielder N’Zonzi has been linked with a return to the Premier League this January, with Arsenal in pole position to bring the Frenchman to the Emirates. He is at just 2/1 to join the Gunners next month.

“N’Zonzi, who has made 14 appearances for Sevilla in all competitions so far this season, has been linked to other Premier League sides as well.

“Everton (4/1) and Leicester (15/2) are the other contenders to sign the midfielder in January, although it is likely his preferred destination would be Arsenal if the North London club were to make a move for him.”

5:20pm: Sam Allardyce could make Watford striker Troy Deeney one of his first targets in January after taking the helm at Everton, according to ESPN.

It is said the Toffees are looking to boost the number of strikers in the team to overcome this season's goal drought.

4:50pm: Newcastle's Aleksandar Mitrovic could be moving back to Anderlecht in the January transfer window.

The Chronicle reports that the 23-year-old is looking to his old club after gaining little playing time with the Magpies.

And it is said the Toon are also willing to consider loaning out the striker as part of an option-to-buy deal.

4:20pm: Schalke’s in-demand star Leon Goretzka has revealed he’ll decided what his future should hold in January.

The 22-year-old is being linked with a host of clubs with his current deal set to expire in the summer.

Manchester United, Barcelona, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Tottenham have all be credited with an interest in recent weeks.

The Germany international said: “It's not about the money, it definitely isn't. I just need to decide what's best for me, for my career, and I mean to do it not after January.”

3:50pm: Sam Allardyce has said he knows Ross Barkley's future at Everton is not a certainty - but admitted he would be 'delighted' to keep the 23-year-old at the club.

The injured midfielder has not yet made an appearance for the Toffees this season and, after a failed move to Chelsea in the summer, it appears the transfer saga could continue next year.

On the possibility that Barkley will stay at his boyhood club, Allardyce said: "I do not know."

3:30pm: Liverpool will be hoping they can hold on to star player Mohamed Salah amid reports Real Madrid are interested in signing the 25-year-old.

According to The Mirror, Egypt manager Hector Cuper has claimed the Spanish giants want to bring the winger to Madrid following his impressive 18 goals in 24 appearances for the Reds.

Salah joined Liverpool from Roma for £34m in the summer.

2.35pm: Javier Mascherano has revealed Real Madrid were after him earlier in his career.

The Argentine has been at Barcelona since a 2010 move from Liverpool.

But it could have been much different for the defensive midfield man.

“I do not know how close, but there was a contact from the Sports Director with my representative in 2004, when he was at the Olympics in Athens, and I do not know what happened,” he told Argentine magazine El Grafico.
