Position Summary:

FLYHT is looking for a working manager to support and lead the Customer Engineering; a team of engineers and software developers who configure and support FLYHT's real time aircraft data monitoring and Satcom products. The products extract and process information from aircraft data buses in real time. This information is used to construct and deliver reports to customers via satellite and ground-based systems to dramatically improve their situational awareness on the ground.

This position is ideal for someone who has experience with Aircraft Systems and/or Aircraft Data Analysis in a support, product development or services environment. The successful candidate will apply domain knowledge as the group leader. He/she is someone who can quickly learn how to implement FLYHT's airborne and ground solutions and is a result driven individual who works exceptionally well with all stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Manager Customer Support to plan, coordinate and execute delivery of product and services in the most efficient manner.
  • Responsible for 24/7 technical support of FLYHT's products and services to ensure timely response to customer and internal infrastructure issues.
  • Escalate voice of the customer and product deficiencies to Product Management and Product Engineering.
  • Provide oversight, mentorship and support to the customer engineering team while creating an enjoyable work environment.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement
  • Ensure that the team is sufficiently challenged to prevent complacency and maintain employee satisfaction.
  • Report on data metrics and challenge the team to continuously improve results with the goal of increasing customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement an initial and recurrent training program.
  • Document and maintain process, procedures and work instructions.
  • Maintain compliance with AS9100 certification requirements.
  • Manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including; employees, clients, suppliers and senior leadership.
  • After hours on-call support as required.

Technical Proficiencies:

  • General understanding of aircraft systems and maintenance
  • Aircraft Data Busses- ARINC 717, 429, ASCB, MIL-STD-1553 etc.
  • Ability to define and validate algorithms for aircraft data monitoring
  • Experience with programming and scripting languages

Qualifications

  • Excellent skills in customer and interpersonal communication
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in aerospace engineering or computer science with a minimum of 3 years of aerospace and/or airline industry experience
  • General understanding of aircraft systems and maintenance
  • Experience as a leader
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and time management skills

Assets

  • Knowledge of avionic software development guidelines (DO-178, DO-278)
  • Understanding of Flight Manuals, Performance Software and other Publications (AFM, AMM, FCOM, QRH, AOM, FPCCM, CAFM, CIFP, SCAPs, EFBs, MMEL, DDG, etc)
  • Technical writing skills
