Cuban and South African Foreign Ministers Meet in Pretoria



Havana, March 10 (ACN) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez and his South African counterpart Ronald Lamola held talks in the capital Pretoria on Monday on the historic bilateral relations between the two countries.

The Cuban government official described as fruitful his meeting with Lamola, whom he said that Cuba considers bilateral links of great significance and is interested in further expand economic-commercial and cooperation relations.

Meanwhile, the South African Foreign Minister said that they agreed to implement formulas for the two nations to share capacities and better practices in areas like agriculture, biotechnology, defense, education, healthcare, infrastructure development and engineering.

According to South Africa’s Foreign Ministry, the dialog follows up on recent and fruitful discussions in the framework of the 79th United Nations General Assembly, PL news agency reported.

South Africa and Cuba are united by cultural, historical bonds, shared struggle, international solidarity and by the joint commitment to advance the development agenda of the Global South, the South African Foreign Ministry recalled.

During his visit to Africa, the Cuban Foreign Minister will meet bilateral agendas in South Africa, Ethiopia, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Ghana and Senegal.
